Researchers from Tyndall National Institute, University College, submitted a contribution to the 4th International Congress on Chemistry for Cultural Heritage, which will take place in Brussels in July 2016.

The contribution, entitled "Use of gold nanorods for sensitive SERS analysis of a Bic ballpoint pen and felt-tip pens", summarizes the experimental work conducted by Tyndall researchers in the framework of the NANORESTART project.

CNR researchers, partners of the NANORESTART project, recently submitted their research on protection of bronze at TOP 2016 (8th International Conference on Times of Polymers and Composites). The Conference will be held in ISchia, Italy, from 19th to 23rd June 2016.

Full title of the submitted contribution is: "Protection of Bronze Artefacts Through Polymeric Coatings Based on Nanocarriers Filled with Corrosion Inhibitors" and is first-authored by Martina Salzano de Luna.

Further information about this conference can be found on the official website.

CUT researchers, partners of the NANORESTART project, recently submitted two contributions about their research on assembly of reinforcement of cellulose-based materials at TAPPI NAno 2016 (International Conference on Nanotechnology for Renewable Materials). The Conference will be held in Grenoble, France, from 13th to 16th June 2016.

Full title of the submitted contributions are:

"Colloid-polyelectrolyte complexes for mechanical reinforcement of natural cellulose fibers – application to art restoration", first-authored by Krzysztof Kolman.

"Canvas restoration for conservation of paintings using cellulose nanofibril / carboxymethyl cellulose-based systems", first-authored by Oleksandr Nechyporchu.

Further information about TAPPI Nano 2016 can be found on the official website.

Piero Baglioni of CSGI, coordinator partner of the NANORESTART project, recently gave a talk about soft matter for conservation of cultural heritage, which is one of the main topics of our project, at the Julich Soft Matter Days 2015 Conference held in Bad Honnef, Germany, from 10th to 13th November 2015.

Full title of the presented contribution is:

"Soft matter and colloids for the conservation of cultural heritage".
